Every two years, Deutsche Farbenzentrum (German color center) organizes a conference in Germany featuring a specific color related topic. Having already received crucial inspiration for my master’s thesis at the 2023 “Color and Health” conference, this year’s conference titled “Stadt Land Farbe” (“City, Country, Color”) coincided perfectly with my thesis writing period. The conference primarily addressed color in built, spatial contexts, including site-specific color schemes, architectural studios specializing in color, painting and craft topics, as well as artistic projects in public spaces. Again, the question of color education resurfaced frequently, highlighting its role in the often-hesitant use of color in architecture and design.
